Aaron Ramsey has been recently criticised for going through a poor run of form, but the Arsenal midfielder has defended himself by saying that he is not 100% in terms of fitness.
Ramsey suffered a major injury and missed the second half of last season. He came back just in time to help the club win the FA Cup by scoring in the final against Hull City. Ramsey’s goals were a major reason behind Arsenal finishing in the top four once again. This season, he has been less prolific and has scored only two goals.
The injury problems do not appear to have gone away completely, as Ramsey missed a few matches this campaign due to a muscular problem. He has only played three full matches since his return.
The last injury that he suffered was against Tottenham towards the end of September. Ramsey was not very influential in the recent matches for the Welsh national team. The spotlight is once again on the 23-year-old as Arsenal have a top match against their nemesis Manchester United. A win for the gunners will put them in pole position for a top four place even though it is still early days in the season.
Ramsey expects much better performances once he starts to find his fitness.”It’s going to take a few more games for me to get back to my best, but I’m not worried.I think certain criticism from people is a bit unfair. It was tough out there again but I’m not worried.
I know my qualities and I’ve had a few injuries this season and I’m still getting back. I’ll be honest and say I’m still not 100% physically there,” said Ramsey. Summer signing Alexis Sanchez, who has eight league goals, has been the only source of goals for Arsenal this campaign.
