Ian Wright Feels Sorry for Forgotten Calum Chambers

index 0
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that it is time for Calum Chambers to look at opportunities elsewhere after not being in the first choice starting line-up under Arsene Wenger for the 2016-17 season. The former Southampton defender was brought to the club in the summer of 2014 for a fee of around £ 14 million. However, his presence at Arsenal has coincided with a problematic time in terms of injuries. As a result, Wenger has had to dig deep into the squad of players and many of them have had to play in a number of positions. Chambers is widely seen as a player who was badly affected as a result of being played in a number of positions across the back four. After making 36 appearances in all competitions in his first season at the club, the 21-year-old went on to make only 22 appearances last season. This included a run of just 12 games in the Premier League, which seemed to suggest that Wenger had lost faith in the player. Even though the player still has age on his side, it became clear that Wenger does not fancy him anymore when the club signed Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers in the summer for just £ 2 million.

Ian Wright has earned every right to be considered a legend at Arsenal. For him to have expressed admiration for a fellow player is definitely a rare occurrence. He has stated that Mesut Ozil has playing skills that are admirable and he would love to play alongside the man. The match that Germany has scheduled with Slovakia in Euro 2016, Wright has been talking about the best players of Germany and how some of them are assets and wonderfully skilled teammates whom he wishes he had the honor of playing alongside with. Wright expressed admiration for the playmaker of Gunners even though he had not been able to score a penalty shot in the last tie situation that arose. It is well that a legendary player has stood by someone who needed less of criticism and more of encouragement for the forthcoming matches. Indeed, with different players coming under pressure as the quarter finals of Euro 2016 proceed, it is important that their confidence levels are kept boosted at all times.

Former star of Arsenal, Ian Wright did not hold anything back when talking about Chelsea’s Eden Hazard as the pundit stated that the Belgian player is a world-class player who has recently gone through an extremely disappointing season which has seen him scoring only 3 goals and providing 3 assists from 28 league appearances. In the previous season of the Premier League, Eden Hazard was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year. He was awarded with this individual award after managing to score 14 goals and 9 assists during the 2014-15 season of the English League. This sudden drop of form from Eden Hazard has also been displayed by the majority of the Chelsea members but it’s been more evident with the Belgian player as he is one of the main figures of the Premier League club and without him, the team clearly does not function. As a pundit, Ian Wright is up to date with everything that is going on in the world of football and he recently talked about the underwhelming season of Eden Hazard. Wright praised Eden Hazard by saying that the Belgian player is a world-class player but that he should be ashamed by what has been a disgrace of a season. “Chelsea has been a disgrace the way they have played this season. Eden Hazard has been a disgrace the way he's played this season. That was the old Hazard last night, he came back and he was absolutely magnificent and should be ashamed of himself.’’

Former professional English player and football commentator, Ian Wright says former player, Thierry Henry will be the perfect replacement for The Gunners. Wright who played for seven years for the English team backs the Frenchman to head the coaching crew at the emirates. Thierry Henry just completed his UEFA coaching badges and Ian Wright says he is the one to replace Arsene Wenger when he finally retires from the club. “Thierry has got his badges, jump in, jump in. If you can’t get a Pep, which we can’t - Arsenal fans wouldn’t want Mourinho for whatever reason - if Thierry is ready to go and he can get the backroom staff, get it done,” Wright said. The leading goal scorer for Arsenal received his UEFA ‘A’ coaching badge last month. This means the former skipper can lead the coaching crew below EPL level or a youth team. The television and radio personality also commented on other issues. He asked that Louis Van Gaal believe more in the youth in his Manchester united squad. He said if he were at the helms of affairs at the club, he would drop Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo. Ian said he favored youngsters, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson due to their style of play and contribution to the team.

Along with Thierry Henry, Ian Wright is another one of those players who have made their marks in Arsenal for everything that they have accomplished during their playing career. Ian Wright is no longer playing in the pitches as he retired some time ago but continues being up to date with everything in the world football as the Englishman went on to become a punter and he has recently gone on to talk about and give praise to Manchester United’s Lesse Lingard. Lesse Lingard is a 23 year old player who made his way through the youth academy of Manchester United and after having been offloaded from a number of loan deals, the young player has recently shown his worth in the big stage as has performed in a number of matches with the main team and Ian Wright is certain that Lingard has a promising future lying ahead. "Throughout the trials and tribulations that have been Manchester United’s season, one thing stood out they always have a player who’s come through the ranks. There’s an incredible stat that Manchester United have had a youth product in their first team squad for league games at least in every game for nearly 80 years. While the current crop are a world away from that Class of 92, Jesse Lingard isn’t doing too badly this season. He’s proving more than up to the task of handling life at United." Ian Wright said.
