The former star of Crystal Palace and Arsenal, Ian Wright played his last competitive match back in 2000 and ever since retiring he has turned into a media figure as he has appeared in numerous shows as well as starting a career as a radio newscaster.

Wright has a big influence in social media as he continuously reveals his opinion concerning anything and it’s just not limited to events in relation to football.

The retired footballer now has over 1 million of followers in twitter and the Englishman celebrated this milestone by playing a match with a select few of his fans and supporters.

This even was labeled with the name: ‘’#OneMoreGame’’. The match was held at Wembley were some of his lucky twitter followers were selected to play alongside Ian Wright in a game that concluded with a final scoreboard of 2-2.

When Ian Wright was asked about the origin of this event, he replied by saying: ‘’Well, I was closing in on a million followers and I never envisaged getting a million followers, especially when I started on Twitter.’’

Ian Wright was asked about who was the best player that he has ever competed against and he replied by saying that it was ZinedineZidane and the retired footballer continued on by expressing his thoughts in relation to Raheem Sterling and if whether or not he will be transferred away from Liverpool.

I’m sure Raheem Sterling will sign for Liverpool; I’d just like to see Arsenal making waves. I saw Raheem say ‘it’s flattering’ after he got mentioned with Arsenal and it is flattering when teams want you. Of course it is! But it’s one of those, I’m not sure if Arsenal will get him simply because Liverpool will do all they can to keep him. I would just like to know Arsenal are trying to sign players of that caliber.’’
