Premier League and Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged his former club to conduct a smart transfer business in the summer, and he has also suggested a player they should sign as well. According to multiple sources, Arsenal will be in the market this summer to sign a couple of players who they believe can help them with their ambitions of competing against the league’s big boys next season.

The Gunners have since been linked to a couple of clubs within and outside England’s top-flight, with reports claiming that they are also expecting some departures in the summer. Wright has said that regardless of the list of transfer targets the club have already prepared, they should find a way to add Yves Bissouma to the list as he believes that the midfielder would be a top signing for the Gunners.

Wright was holding an interview on Optus Sports where he made the comments, insisting that Arsenal do not have enough firepower and quality in their midfield, hence, the need to sign Bissouma in the summer. The Arsenal legend believes that the Mali international superstar would be a great addition to the squad, as he would also be a great fit to their style of play and the perfect partner of Thomas Partey at the heart of their midfield.

Wright, however, acknowledged that if Arsenal are going to stand a great chance of signing the 24-year-old midfielder, they would need to secure European qualification ahead of next season as it would be a deciding factor and an enticing offer to the player who would relish the chance of playing in Europe next season.

Wright said Bissouma is a player Arsenal need badly because of his strength and agility which would complement that of Partey’s. He said a combination of the duo in midfield would be a great one and that the Gunners should do all they can to sign the Malian star.
